Alexia Micallef wins the fourth edition of Kantamagħna Festival

On Saturday 21st January 2023, DCapitals Big Band presented the 4th edition of Kantamagħna - A Singers' Festival at the Teatru Astra in Victoria. 24 singers participated in the festival and were divided in three categories. Alexia Micallef was selected from the professional jury as the overall winner of the festival. She performed the song 'Killing me softly'. All the winners and runners-up of the festival categories were:

• Distinct Talent Award: Ramires Sciberras
• Winner Category A (10-13 years): Elisa Buttigieg
• Runner-up Category A: Eve Tabone
• Rebbieħa Category B (14-17 years): Maya Cauchi
• Runner-up Category B: Luana Schembri
• Winner Category C (18-35 years): Alexia Micallef
• Runner-up Category C: Geo Debono
• Overall Winner: Alexia Micallef

All singers were accompanied by an 18 piece live band, DCapitals Big Band under the direction of Mro George Apap. Morena Camilleri hosted this year's festival. The winning singer will be awarded a one year contract with DCapitals and she will have the opportunity to perform in a number of occasions locally and abroad with the band. Kantamagħna was presented in collaboration with the Cultural Heritage Directorate within the Ministry for Gozo; Victoria Local Council; and Distinct Homes Ltd.
