Gozo Minister vists Teatru Astra

Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono on Tuesday 30 August visited Teatru Astra where she was briefed on the works which are currently being carried out on the main stage and other facilities of the theatre.  The programme of works is being financed through an Eco-Gozo project launched by the Ministry for Gozo.  Minister Debono, who was accompanied by Joseph Scerri and Anthony Zammit, Permanent Secretary and Director of Eco-Gozo within the Ministry of Gozo, were welcomed by Paul Zammit, President of the La Stella Philharmonic Society.

The renovation works are expected to be completed within weeks, ahead of the tenth edition of Festival Mediterranea which will kick starts with a double representation of Vincenzo Bellini's Norma on 27 and 29 October.
