Preparations for the Annual Grand Concert

Preparations are running in full swing by the La Stella Band ahead of its annual musical highlight – the Grand Concert which will bring to an end the tenth edition of Festival Mediterranea on 19 November 2011.

The band resumed its rehearsals at the Giuseppe Giardini Hall at the La Stella Band Club three weeks ago, following a busy summer schedule which involves a significant number of weekly musical appointments across Gozo’s villages.  The band is being trained by the La Stella Band Club musical director, Prof Joseph Vella assisted by Mro Noel Beck, assistant director.  It is expected the programme of the concert will be released in the coming weeks. In the meantime the Festival Mediterranea committee has already released the first poster of the event, which is also featuring prominently in the Festival guide which as been published way back in August and is also available online from this website.

In recent years this concert has gained popularity amongst music lovers in Gozo, including both local supporters of the band and foreign residents who look forward to this concluding musical highlight of Festival Mediterranea.
