Teatru Astra's 2009 Rigoletto graces the latest edition of 'Your Gozo Guide'

Opera season coming up!  The 13th edition of Your Gozo Guide published by Arkadia Marketing Ltd naturally gives prominence to what is arguably one of Malta's most glamourous nights, the opera in Gozo.

The main editorial feature in this publication entitled Andiamo all' Opera! gives due prominence to Teatru Astra's forthcoming La Traviata and Festival Mediterranea. More significantly, the cover of the publication and the title page photo of  the article feature two of the best shots from the 2009 Rigoletto staged at Teatru Astra on the 29 and 31 October.

Intended as a comprehensive commercial and cultural guide to non-Gozitants who commute regularly to Gozo, the latest edition of Arkadia's publication dwells on the significant efforts undertaken to organise operas.  Amongst other details, reference is made to main singers participating in La Traviata, particularly Gozitan Miriam Cauchi who will be interpreting the leading role of Violetta who ''augurs great anticipation and a guarantee for success after her resounding triumph as Gilda last year''.  Moreover emphasis is made on Marco Gandini's artistic direction at Teatru Astra. Gandini's recent productions were staged in La Scala and Rome's Teatro dell' Opera.  Mr Gandini has, uninterruptedly since 1992, worked alongside film and opera director Franco Zeffirelli.
